St. Paul’s Cathedral


St. Paul’s Cathedral architect, Christopher Wren is the first person to be buried at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding was hosted in the Cathedral in 1981! There are 12 huge bells in the Cathedral, the biggest one weighing over 3 tons. St. Paul’s Cathedral was built in the English Baroque style, but the old version that was lost in the Great Fire of London, was Gothic style.
St. Paul's is the second largest church building in the Uk.

Chippendale

Thomas Chippendale was a cabinetmaker and furniture designer who was born in 1718 in Otley, Yorkshire. Later in his life he opened a successful workshop in London and later published "The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director," in 1754 which made him famous. Chippendale's designs were famous due to his intricate woodcarvings, ornate details, and a perfect blend of all the influences that influenced his work. Chippendale had a big influence on Britain with his famous cabinet making and book, that also managed to reach and influence America as well. Although Chippendale rarely made his own furniture, his favorite material was Mahogany.

Robert Adam

 Robert Adam was born in 1728 and died in 1792, he was a neoclassical architect and interior designer. Adams studied architecture in Rome, Italy where he learned all about ruins of ancient buildings and architecture. Adam formed an architectural firm with his brothers, James and William, "Adam Brothers". Robert Adam actually did a collab with the famous Thomas Chippendale, as mentioned above, during the Georgian era. Robert was also a writer and is known for his "Works in Architecture", where he talked about his design principles. Adam remodeled the famous Syon House in London.
